I will tell you about my experience about installing and playing the game on a Mac mini with the M1 processor.
The WG game center installed without issues, BUT I had to resume the download several times, because after downloading for a while, it stucked and I had to force quit the game center, relaunch it and resume the download. That has been quite painful and time consuming.
Before launching the game, I installed the pmod (to set zoom X2 when switching to sniper mode, I can't play without that), and imported my preferences.xml from the PC version to not set everything (keys and various settings) manually.

First game : graphics set to minimum, 1920*1024, vsync, framerate 60 FPS (capped due to vsync). The game is ugly but playable.

Second game : graphics set to low, 1920*1024, vsync, framerate 60 FPS. Game is not ugly and enjoyable, but looks like an quite oldschool game.
Third game : graphics set to medium, 1920*1024, vsync, framerate 40 to 55 FPS. Playable and more beautiful, but I prefer a little less beautiful and 60 FPS.
Fourth game : back to low graphics preset, 3840*2160, vsync, framerate 60 FPS. I'm using that configuration, and in 4K the lower texture and shadow details are less an 'issue'.
Conclusion : game is not very confortable with medium preset, but runs nicely (60 FPS capped by vsync) with low preset even at 4K resolution. Note that my PCs (I5 - 760GTX, and I7 - 1050) both can't run the game at 60 FPS with 4K resolution, with low graphics preset...
